Guided tours of Yorkshire

Whether you are travelling in a group, family or on your own, we can offer step on coach guiding, walking tours or, working with a York based chauffeur, your own private tour of our spectacular county. We are particularly interested in creating family friendly tours suitable for all ages and interests. We also design tours for international universities to help with their studies. Last May we had a group from the US studying pilgrimage and we visited inspirational places all over Yorkshire – from York Minster to Whitby via the 12 Apostles! We have also carried out tours for speciality groups such as Theatre Clubs and Arts Societies which are always great fun and we are happy to tailor a tour to suit specific interests.

Yorkshire is packed full of beautiful scenery, vibrant cities, delightful towns and villages, spectacular ruins, grand stately homes, art, culture and characters: there really is something for everyone and we can help put together the perfect itinerary. Local knowledge means we can show you parts of the county you might not have known about or thought to visit.

Looking for a completely bespoke tour package? Get in touch and we can create the perfect itinerary for your visit to Yorkshire.

We can go wherever you like in Yorkshire but here are some of our most popular tours to get you started:

York ½ Day Tour

Travel through 2000 years of history in this glorious city. Learn about its founding in AD71 by the Romans, its development and destruction and how time & time again, the city was able to rebuild and reinvent itself. Marvel at a wealth of buildings from the Ancient to the Modern, including one of the best-preserved Medieval streets in the world – The Shambles. This tour includes a visit inside the iconic York Minster, one of the world’s greatest cathedrals where you can see the vast collection of Medieval stained glass. (Admission charges not included in tour price)

All Creatures Great & Small – 1 Day Tour

Working with a York based chauffeur we can take you on a glorious journey around the Yorkshire Dales national park with stops at some of the key locations made famous in the TV series. We’ll have coffee in Grassington which becomes fictional Darrowby and travel down the narrow road to Helen’s farm. Lunch will be in, where else, but a typical country pub!

Castle Howard ½ Day Tour

Join me from the comfort of your own home on a virtual walking tour of the beautiful town of Beverley in East Yorkshire. Visit this impressive stately home made famous in Brideshead Revisited and more recently, series 1 of Bridgerton. The tour will include a visit inside the house learning of history and family behind it followed by a walk around the magnificent gardens taking in fountains and follies along the way! (Admission charges not included in the tour price). Why not combine Castle Howard with a visit to Whitby? Travel across the spectacular North York Moors to this cute and quirky seaside town. It is dominated by the ruins of Whitby Abbey on the cliff, which has inspired writers for centuries including Bram Stoker when writing Dracula! After a filling lunch of fish and chips, work it off by climbing the 199 steps to the Abbey to find out more of its history.

Yorkshire Wolds – 1 Day Tour

Explore this lesser-known part of Yorkshire to see the landscape that inspired artist David Hockney. We will drive through the unspoilt dry chalk valleys taking in pretty villages and scenic views. Your tour could include a visit to Burton Agnes Hall, an interesting stately home with its original Norman manor house and an impressive art collection.
