Sarah was amazing and gave us a great introduction to York! We only had a few days to spend there and this was a wonderful way to make a list of the places we wanted to visit. Highly recommend!

The sun came out today for our guided coach tour taking us from Hull to Whitby, across to Goathland and then Malton. All arranged, sorted and guided by brilliant Sarah from Experience Yorkshire. The scenery was stunning from start to finish. Moors, Wolds, daffodils in abundance, gorse, high cliffs, lambs, abbeys, a steam train, the sea, pretty villages, seaside towns, tales of giants and princesses, Kings and Queens and other historical facts and figures together with up to date stuff too. Thank you, Sarah, it was superb.

Last autumn Sarah gave my husband and me, together with six geriatric friends, a hugely enjoyable and instructive tour of the Minster. Not only did she have a thorough and all-encompassing knowledge of the history of the building and its environs, but she delivered this in a thoroughly accessible way, interspersing facts with amusing anecdotes and personal views on some of the people who played an important part in the history of the Minster. What was obvious to us all, however, was her love of the building, which she successfully transmitted to her audience.

Visiting York became an essential part of the social programming arranged for our US university students spending a semester in the UK, so that they could see a part of the UK that they might otherwise miss in their travels around Europe. And they could not have hoped for a better guide to the city than Sarah.  Walking a group of upwards of twenty students through the winding streets and alleys of York, she gave them a potted history of the city, from Roman times through to the 20th  century, taking in Vikings, the railways and – of course – chocolate as well!  We made a point of ending at York Minster, where Sarah is also an authorized guide, so that the group could enjoy the architecture and stained glass in its tranquil setting.  As an introduction to York, and an inspiration for subsequent individual visiting, a tour with Sarah is highly recommended, whatever the age of the participants.
