12 Jun 2020 The Year that Wasn’t
2020 started few of enthusiasm – launching a new website and looking forward to starting a new food tour of York – Sights and Bites. But the corona virus has put paid to everyone’s plans and tour guiding is out of the window for the foreseeable future.
However I am trying my best (when I can fit it around homeschooling!) to use this time to be as productive as possible. I’m researching new tours and new interests for when we can get back out there. So expect Sights and Bites, but also tours themed around Gentleman Jack’s eponymous heroine, Anne Lister as well as special interest tours, in particular relating to the stories and locations of the Northern Saints such as John of Beverley, Hild of Whitby and St Cuthbert.
There will be bookable events available on the website for when we can guide again so keep your eyes out for that.
For the moment, there’s no guiding but I’ve launched a YouTube channel to showcase what is on offer here in Yorkshire once you can return. I will update it as regularly as I can so please subscribe and get watching!
In the meantime please stay safe and enjoy planning your future adventures in Yorkshire.
